Security Specialist - Risk Assessment

The resource would be required to review, integrate, reconcile and develop if needed, Threat Risk Assessment, Vulnerability Assessment and Privacy Impact Assessment tools and approaches of the client. This will include working closely with the Operations Branch security team, the Security Focus Group, and the Senior Information Protection Analyst to ensure that the approach and tools take all requirements into account.

The Government of Canada Pension Modernization Project (GCPMP) has need of a person to work with team EDS and the PWGSC resources to help with the specification and coordination of the implementation of enterprise application management and monitoring. This is beyond the basic server monitoring that is done to manage operating systems and hardware with tools like BMC Patrol, HP Openview or IBM Tivoli ITM. PWGSC has standard processes for that type of monitoring. What we need is someone to deal with monitoring and messages from the Siebel and Oracle software that make up the GCPMP solution. The tools that receive the messages may be the same (BMC Patrol, HP Openview of IBM Tivoli ITM) but may also include other tools and is more aligned around the process to identify the important messages and how to fit them into the total application support model. Technical skills are important but other people will actually configure the monitoring tools. In many ways processes are equally important. Duration is a minimum of 6 months. Potential to move to other positions on the project.
